Jammin' Tigers

The Jammin’ Tigers group is open to fourth and fifth graders. They meet after school for rehearsals.  Performances during the year include a Christmas or Spring Tour of Harmony Hall, Spring Arbor, and the North Carolina Veterans Home - all in Kinston.  Additionally, a performance is presented for students and parents either during the Christmas Assembly or the Spring PTA meeting.

During the 2024-2025 school year, The Jammin’ Tigers Performance group will perform a Christmas Tour  to the local rest homes and the local high school. They will begin working on a “Pirates Musical” which will be performed in the spring. You don’t want to miss this show, it will be a sock knocker! No art form is truly more collaborative than Theatre Arts combined with music. It is an important tool for preparing students to live and work in the real world.

As defined by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Arts Integration is an APPROACH to TEACHING in which students construct and demonstrate UNDERSTANDING through an ART FORM.  Students engage in a CREATIVE PROCESS which CONNECTS an art form and another subject area and meets EVOLVING OBJECTIVES in both.
